Who we are
Cedar Branch Farm & Cattle
Our Story; the roots run deep…
Hi folks, we’re Jeremey and Michelle Huddleston. Our family farm is nestled in the very southwest corner of Missouri. We built our home on a piece of land, overlooking the farm, close to where Michelle’s great-great-grandparents and grandparents homes once stood. Her grandparents, Dave and Mary Evelyn, later bought an adjacent property in 1991, combining the land and fulfilling Dave’s dream of establishing a farm and creating a lasting family legacy. Dave began with a small herd of commercial cattle, but his affection for animals, excluding snakes, “The only good snake is a dead one!”, eventually transformed the farm into a haven for a variety of multi-species. He believed in making the most of his resources and allowing nature to guide and impart wisdom. He poured everything he had into his family and farm.
After Dave’s passing in 2006, Michelle’s parents, Pam and Rick, continued living and working on the family’s farm, while working outside of the farm as well. Over time, they gradually scaled back the farm’s operations to focus solely on raising commercial cow/calf pairs. In 2016, Michelle and I moved onto the property to support her parents after Rick was diagnosed with lung cancer. After a long and difficult battle, sadly we lost Rick in March of 2024. This marked the beginning of our farm chapter, but we found ourselves overcome with grief from losing our patriarch and overwhelmed with responsibilities both on and off the farm. To say the least, our plate was heaping full! They say, “don’t quit your day job and be a full time farmer”. After a lot of thinking and praying, we decided to do just that! Michelle walked away from her 9-5 position after 10+ years to oversee the day to day operations of the family farm, Cedar Branch Farm & Cattle.
